[00:00:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, welcome to WillHell. I am your host Ben Beck and I am so excited to bring you this

[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_04]: one. As I promised with this new season of the podcast coming in addition to new

[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_04]: time five episodes and new film reviews and product reviews and things like that, new ideas

[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_04]: coming. I also promised you that I was going to be bringing you guys some panel audio from

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_04]: some panels I've been doing over the past year to year and a half. I've been holding

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_04]: on to these for a while and I have a bunch of them that I'm going to be mixing in over

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_04]: the course of the new season and the top five and everything else that's going on with WillHell.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm excited to bring you guys this one. So this is actually one of the latest ones.

[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I have some older stuff happening. I have the panel with ants and mount and Chris

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Sarandon and those are really interesting because they happen during the writers and

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_04]: actors strike so they're a little different. And I can't wait to get you guys those ones too,

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_04]: but this one in particular goes back from earlier this year. This happened over the summer and

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_04]: this happened at Contrapalist New Jersey and this was my one on one panel with Ross Markwand.

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_04]: If you guys are not familiar with Ross Markwand or even if you are, hopefully you are,

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_04]: especially if you're listening to this Ross played Aaron in the Walking Dead. He was

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_04]: red skull in Infinity War, Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame. He's the voice of

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Professor X in the new X-Men 97 cartoon series. He's done a ton of other work. He is an incredible

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_04]: impressionist and I've met Ross a number of times over the past couple years and shows that I've

[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_04]: worked. And everything been on stage with Ross before but never won on one. And being the

[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_04]: massive fan of Ross is that I am and long time fan of Ross is that I am. I was really,

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_04]: really excited about this one on one opportunity. I was finally getting with Ross.

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was really, really great because I learned a lot about Ross in this conversation in this

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_04]: panel or on this panel that stuff that I never knew. And I don't want to spoil any of it for you.

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I want you guys to listen and hear it for yourself because you'll hear my reactions to it when I'm

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_04]: learning about things I never even knew. So I want you guys to enjoy this one because I really

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_04]: enjoyed doing this one and it's just a lot of fun. Ross is incredibly nice, he's incredibly great.

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_04]: If you ever go to a show and he is there, make sure you go to his table and you go and you talk to him

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_04]: because he is just amazing. With that said before we go on to the panel audio just a quick

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_04]: thing. So if I was keeping quick, a couple housekeeping things next episode which you'll be hearing

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_04]: it about two weeks, I'm on my way to Terricon and Massachusetts next weekend. So I won't have the

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_04]: time to do the post credit for the next episode. So I'm going to push it to about two weeks. And that is

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_04]: top five favorite top Tom Hanks movies, which was a lot of fun and incredibly difficult. But when

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I return from Massachusetts when I return from Terricon not only will I have even more panel audio

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_04]: to share with you guys over the course of this season, I will be posting on social media the

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_04]: feedback portion so that you guys can let me know your top five's and why they're in your top five

[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_04]: and then I'll use them on the podcast when I record that when I get home. If you want to get ahead

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_04]: of it though you'll always can easiest way to do that is just send me an email directly, send

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_04]: an email or record yourself on a voicemail, send it to me feedback at willhoundpodcast.com.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_04]: You can get ahead of it before I even post the feedback section. But if you want to wait

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_04]: to the feedback section, you can post it in there as well. That'll be on both Instagram and Facebook

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_04]: at Will Home Podcasts on both. Or if you just want to find everything in one spot including

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_04]: old episodes where to subscribe, all of that fun stuff, where to send your friends to to find

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_04]: about the podcast, you can just go to welcome to willhound.com or willhoundpodcast.com.

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_04]: They both send you to the same spot. So yeah with that being said and all of that out of the way

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to shut up now and I'm going to pass it on to the panel audio so sit back, relax

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: and I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I enjoyed moderating this panel. This conversation

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_04]: with Ross Marquand. Enjoy!

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_02]: All right great great great perfect yeah wonderful day here in New Jersey,

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_02]: how about those what? I didn't say anything. State bird the mosquito.

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Am I right? Yeah yeah it was sorry. I'm from Jersey so I can like I can fully accept the fact

[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_04]: that we have a lot of mosquitoes we have there's some definitely there's some swampy areas in New

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Jersey. Very humid here yes that's all but oh yeah yeah well they're everywhere

[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_04]: because I currently live in Pennsylvania we get the lanternflies over there too oh yeah yeah

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_04]: they're actually like so mad like they tell you like killed them on site oh cheese yeah wow yeah

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_02]: then you get those electronic or electric uh brackets yeah those things are awesome

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_04]: oh I didn't even think about that those things because I usually just stop them out

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah yeah exactly yeah yeah yeah you can get macoscopal like 15 bucks but they got the

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_02]: zapper and also the the shotgun with the salt the salt shot yeah that's stuff is awesome you

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_02]: don't you know what I'm talking about it's like yeah there's pump pump action salt shooter

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_02]: and it's it's very effective yes it's great I wonder how effective those like electric

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_04]: rackets are on annoying friends oh but that was probably work yeah probably so how you been I

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_04]: mean how's the weekend been treating you it's so far today. Good I apologize for being a little

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_02]: low energy I just flew in from overseas and I'm still very very jet lag so I apologize to

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_02]: the bands if I trail off or just like start looking at the ceiling for no reason. That's because

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_04]: of you I travel I mean well I mean you came from you said you came from overseas working on a project

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_02]: or just like like vacation was there a convention in Bulgaria last weekend and then with the

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Croatia after that now I'm here oh wow so you're doing this you're doing the full worldwide circuit

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_04]: well what yeah yeah so I mean I like we were just talking outside of there and I you know I

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_04]: worked another show with you a couple years ago when Atlanta and you've been doing shows for a number

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_04]: of years what is it like is it I would assume it's a loaded question because the obvious

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_04]: answers should be the fans but what is it that keeps you coming back to doing these shows?

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I mean I've said it on a few pounds before but I think this was a world that I wanted

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_02]: to be a part of as a kid Comic-Conzamin and I could never afford them my brothers and I were

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_02]: usually the ones wanting to go to the Star Trek and Star Wars conventions and my parents were like

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_02]: well if you make enough money you can go really cool how much is the entrance fee $50 oh god you know

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_02]: so you know we just never just get in the door yeah yeah so we never could afford to go as kids

[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_02]: so I I was like if I ever find a way later in life and I guess I had to get on a TV show first

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_02]: to do it but you know it worked out it worked out that was that was all just that my design

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't really actually want to be an actor I just wanted to go to Comic-Conz just go to

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_04]: are you wanted to be invited to Comic-Conz and not have to pay the entrance fee exactly yeah yeah

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_02]: it's like I wanted to be on SNL because I like doing the jokes but I actually didn't want

[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_02]: to be on the show I just wanted to like host it you know yeah so you haven't even been there yet

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_02]: right have never been I auditioned actually I auditioned for SNL like eight months before the walking

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_02]: dead and I came close but they they went with two other folks that year but that was my

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_02]: dreams since I was a little kid who were the other two folks that they went with your memory went

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_02]: with oh gosh that you I can picture their faces but not their names I can really start on SNL

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_02]: no yeah they they they they were on their foot buddy year oh okay and no well well this is one of

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_02]: no well well's and I came over the other gentlemen but John something John with an M I believe was

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_02]: this name um yeah they wanted for like a year no John may here not John mayer but uh god I

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_02]: can remember but they were yeah they were on their foot like a season and then they left the show so

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_04]: that's interesting because I never is that so when you say you auditioned for SNL that was something

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I never knew before so but I mean was it purely because of the impression work that you did it

[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_04]: or did you want to actually get into like sketch comedy oh I did a lot of sketch got it you know before

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I did a Denver where I'm from and in school as well but that was always my dream to go

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_02]: on SNL it's really the the show that may be want to be a comedic actor you know X men the original

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_02]: X men was the reason why I wanted to become an actor in general but SNL was the show is like

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean in a tent when I was younger it stand up and it's terrifying so I but yet here I am on stages

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_04]: conventions but I had done and I that was a similar dream I had as well I was like oh I want to be on

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_04]: SNL and then I realized I talked to somebody who had auditioned for SNL and they're like you got

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_04]: to come with like five different characters and like characters I just want to tell jokes yeah it's

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_02]: it's pretty intense I mean I'll have a room full of people and Lauren Michaels who created the show

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_02]: tells his staff not to laugh so no one is allowed to laugh or give any kind of encouragement whatsoever

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_02]: so you're just like yeah I do in your thing and you're like hey this is awkward because no one's

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_02]: no one's uh given you feedback and and I used to do stand up too and so much of stand up is that immediate

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_02]: feedback you feed off of the energy of the audience and if they're giving you nothing you're just like oh my god

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_02]: you know it just makes you feel like you're the worst comedian ever you know so

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_04]: have you ever saying that you've done stand up before too is that something you've ever wanted to

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe at some point go back to what's on hand think about going open mics again you know but I think

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_02]: being on the road like a lot of my friends and comedians and they just you know they're on the road

[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_02]: constantly and uh I'm already on the road enough with conventions so I feel like adding comedy to it

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_02]: as well would probably kill me so I think I know what you're doing. I still remember because I

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_04]: still remember my first time ever doing it I was I wasn't prepared for it I had material written

[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_04]: and I went and I saw a friend of mine who was performing and he said well I don't have an opener

[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_04]: going to come out he's like you only got to do like five minutes unlike that's still asking a lot

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_04]: for somebody who's never done it before he's like we'll just think of it this way if you bomb

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_04]: you don't have to see these people ever again with the exception of the fact that a girl I was

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_04]: dating was also with me because we were on a date to see him interesting and I remember going out

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_04]: there and just starting my bit and my hand was like oh no until I got through the first joke

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_04]: and I realized that the laugh was at the joke and not at me that it was always fine yeah and

[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_02]: it did like like three and a half minutes I did stand up out here about eight nine years ago at the

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_02]: lab on a stay is in Manhattan um I think it was called a lab and that place was so supportive

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and then still I think I hope it's still there I think a lot of those places close down post-coban

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_02]: but there's some great obviously great current comedy out here in New York so yeah oh yeah there's a

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_04]: time up in Appin New York there's a couple of places here in New Jersey yeah he's in comedy clubs

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah yeah I've heard of her I have never done show in Jersey club maybe maybe tonight maybe

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_02]: tonight's the night hey maybe right now maybe right now we didn't tell you that's with this panel

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_04]: really is it's Rossi stand up it's just return um at any point if you guys do have questions for

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Rossi there is a microphone here please come on up to the microphone and we'll get to those

[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_04]: questions as we go through okay the little banter that we have um obviously I mean I'm sure you've

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_04]: talked about it that but we gotta talk about Aaron and the walking dead what led you to that

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_04]: role like what was the audition process going into that role was it because the show was already

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_04]: established at that point by the time you had gone into it what was the audition process like going

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: into that and was were you any kind of intimidation feeling because of how established the show was

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah I mean I wanted to get on three shows in particular around that time this was

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_02]: 2010 to 2014 around there um some of anarchy madman and walking dead because I really loved

[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_02]: all three of those shows and it was a big big consumer of all three but especially the walking dead

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_02]: and uh I auditioned twice didn't obviously get it because I don't just didn't work out one of

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_02]: those roles ended up being a gariff the leader of the terminus kick-and-ball folks and I'm kind

[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_02]: of glad I didn't get that role because I was like four episodes yeah and then he dies of course

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and uh I never would have had the stretch of it he thought you had it I also think

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Andrew West who played that role just knocked it out of the park and I really I can't see anyone

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_02]: else playing that role even myself because it was just he just did such a good job which is one of

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_02]: the bad things about our show is that we introduce these great characters and almost kill him off

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_02]: instantaneously you know usually before the seasons over there I like Alpha was that way from me

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_02]: exactly yeah yeah I mean Alpha made it were two of my favorite villains of the show and they

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_02]: didn't last as long as I think they showed up you know personally but uh um but yeah I

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: auditioned for it two times didn't work out and the last time I had decided to give up acting

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like that's it I'm done and that was like six weeks before that audition came through

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I hadn't had an audition for almost a year and I thought my team had dropped me because I

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_02]: had an earth room so long and they said no it's just been slow but we worked really hard to get

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_02]: you this so please go and I said like I kind of gave up acting and I was going to move to New York

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_02]: to pursue photography and writing instead and they were like well man of many talents well I don't

[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_02]: know if a master of none interested in many I interested in many but yeah but uh they had to convince

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_02]: me to go because originally I was not going to go to the audition I was like you know I don't

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_02]: want another rejection under my belt before I do this new venture and uh they luckily did convince

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_02]: me to go to it but I'll be honest it's the only audition I've ever done in my life

[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_02]: then I forgive me for cursing but I didn't give a shit whether I booked it or not I really didn't

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_04]: care. It might have played into getting the role that because I mean going into a going into a role

[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_04]: in audition with that attitude but that care free attitude you kind of release yourself of the

[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_04]: pressure that you put yourself under to want to get that role so bad and I and it's not that

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't put in the work I did I did still prepare for the audition I memorized lines and I came

[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_02]: with a you know clear idea of who this character was did all the things I was supposed to do

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_02]: is an actor but uh like with with with uh auditions or with trying to get someone that you like

[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_02]: you know you've been pining over for months and months or years the more you don't give a shit

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_02]: and just say hey if it's meant to be it's meant to be that's where the universe rewards you

[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_02]: it's not from being like oh god I need this many of this person in my life or I need this job

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and you know if I don't get that I won't be happy that the universe can smell that desperation

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_02]: and they're like oh oh we don't we don't like that. Like you know if the universe

[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_02]: or whatever you want to call it is like oh he here she doesn't release him to care about this so

[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_02]: let's let's give it to him you know it's funny how life works with that yeah and if you set

[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_04]: yourself I mean you're right if you go in there with that kind of like the uh my mind

[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_04]: blanked on the word but you go in there you know it's one of the variations that's pretty

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_04]: it was on the tip of my tongue and I just couldn't get it out but when you go in with that

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_04]: desperation you're sitting yourself up almost for failure especially if you don't get the roll

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah because then it's going to hurt even more the next time around but going in not giving a shit

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_04]: like you said you've kind of already convinced you've comforted yourself already is that if you

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_02]: time to move on that's for key to life everyone don't give a shit about anything

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_04]: and that's the key yeah so you get the call then after the audition that you're getting the

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_04]: roll like I imagine knowing now what you said about how you were just ready to give up acting

[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I imagine that had to be a huge relief man it was uh it was not because I auditioned

[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_02]: on August 15th and on my birthday August 22nd 2014 I was sick as a dog with a stomach flu like

[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_02]: sick as a dog puking and just you know it was just really a mess and you know sweating and

[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_02]: just like I was just laying in my bed I was like this is the worst birthday ever you know

[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_02]: and around five o'clock that night my manager called me a week after which usually in our

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_02]: industry if you don't book it within the first few days you're not going to get it you know it's

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_02]: usually pretty instantaneous decision and she called me I don't know why I'm doing this that's

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_02]: not what myself and look like you show you show you my age you know like yeah yeah

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_02]: anyway I pick up the phone and she's like are you sitting down I'm like I'm lying down

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_02]: what's going on and she said you book this thing and it's uh it's gonna change your life and

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I just I shot up out of bed and I instantly felt better I mean I was just about to make the joke

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_02]: of I'm healed but yeah it seemed like that was actually quite literally yeah I I the cold win away

[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I felt great and I couldn't tell anybody that was the I was the only hard part about it I couldn't

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_02]: tell anyone from August of 2014 until February of 2015 when my episodes first started to air

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_02]: my parents were like what where are you what are you doing I can't tell you like what are you

[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_02]: doing I'm like I can't tell you and today I thought I was like involved in drugs or something like

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_02]: you're like they're just enjoying the gang or something but uh he was ready to give up acting we don't

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_02]: know where he is exactly you know there you go exactly yeah so they were all a little concerned

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_04]: but it all worked out so yeah so you want so you know you you go to filming you start production

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_04]: with the sat and I know one of the things that's been pretty common and it's come out you know

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_04]: whether it be conversations on talking dead or other interviews is how welcoming that walking

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_04]: dead family was so I imagine they had them it was pretty much open arms when you started coming

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_02]: in the back quite literally like the first person my met was Rick Andrew Lincoln and he he just go

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_02]: any you know most people know this but he's British and he he never drops character the entire

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_02]: time he's there so he comes up he's like hey how you doing welcome the family I'm Rick and I'm like

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_02]: holy crab like and I'm like Jesus Christ you totally already gives me a big hug and he's like

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_02]: welcome the family I'm like man that's the craziest because that was nervous as hell I

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_02]: swept through three different pairs of shirts on the on the flight from L.A. to L.A. and I was very nervous

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_02]: and he couldn't have been more welcoming than I met uh Eugene and Abraham and they they I mean

[00:19:01] [SPEAKER_04]: still some investments I've met Josh and Michael a number of times and those two are in a blast

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_04]: they are a blast they are at their Santa Ana fund yeah I wanted to take you before you started feeling like

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean you know obviously you got the open arms treatment when you walked on set and I made you feel

[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_04]: they made you know they wanted to show you how welcoming they were was it instantaneous that you

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_04]: did feel that or didn't take a little time for you to feel like okay I'm part of this family now

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_02]: no it was definitely an instantaneous I mean they were all very welcoming but I was still very nervous

[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: about screwing up one of my favorite shows because you don't want to be the weakest link and you know

[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_02]: you're like I got to get a show up and like really you know you want to be Johnny in the spot you

[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_02]: when I have your lines memorized you want to do a great job with your character choices and

[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_02]: it really took about a year and a half if I'm being honest for me to really feel settled

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think Abraham and Eugene had a big part in getting me to calm down because I was so nervous

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_02]: about getting killed off or fired constantly on that I don't know how everybody didn't feel that

[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_02]: oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I mean you just never know it's like a

[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_02]: surprise I was like one episode someone's there and the next minute they're dead yeah so

[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I I or you're under a dumpster somewhere for a while that's my boy Michael oh yeah yeah

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_02]: but the dumpster gate I remember that caused a big curfuffle but you know I wasn't so much

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_02]: dead when I got this job I had $120,000 of that and when you have that much debt in your life

[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_02]: it's all you can think about it's kind of so crush yeah yeah and it's and it's it's all encompassing

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean like I think your every thought is just like how do I get out of this how do I get out of this

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_02]: and that first year we weren't I mean you make very little money the first few years you're on the show

[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_02]: that's a fun fact that people don't want to tell you but like you don't really make them

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_02]: much money those first few years and I just was like as long as I get enough to pay off my

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_02]: debt then I can quit acting and then I'll just be on my way you know I just wanted to get out of

[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_02]: debt that was the biggest thing I was having a good time on the show but I was just praying

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_02]: that it was like just don't kill me off until like I've been on the show until I pay off my debt you

[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_02]: know so yeah exactly yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah you got a little

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_04]: new you know it was a huge deal so much though that like there were specials about it I

[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_04]: know like AMC talking dead did like the huge celebration about it everything what was what

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_04]: we gear thoughts on the show ending do you feel like it had reached its peak do you feel like

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_02]: it could have continued on I feel like there's two schools of thought because I think there were

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_02]: times where the show we were we were revisiting certain things that I think had already been put

[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_02]: but there were also several things in the comic book that I really wanted to dive into

[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_02]: and where we left things at the end of season 10 with the whisperer war ending was

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_02]: we were hearing from the producers that this may go to season 14 or 15 you know they they like

[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_02]: we have all this material from the comic books let's do it you know they had no intention of

[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_02]: canceling but it was COVID they really screwed us because we were spending a million dollars

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_02]: episode extra just on COVID protocols so COVID testing uh PPP PPP PPP PPP yeah that was like

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_02]: what it's been a while isn't that funny I was like three years ago we just stopped talking about

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I were like that didn't happen let's move on you know it's really wow they're like really

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_02]: no one even talks about like the most insane time in our lives anymore which is like suppose just

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_02]: get back to work but um the budget was just a big issue it was just too much money to produce

[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_02]: that show because 24 million dollars for that last season just went to COVID testing in protocols

[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_02]: so obviously that's coming away from the budget for the casting crew the production value

[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_02]: special effects and they just said you know we just got a call as beta spade here like we

[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_02]: gotta have smaller paired down shows with fewer actors which is why we have a spin arms that

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_02]: you know two or three of the main actors and then a cast of newer some of some of my

[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_02]: known actors that maybe don't cost as much whatever it usually just comes out of the budget

[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_02]: so I never took it personally but I was I was certainly bummed because I was hoping to play

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_04]: that guy for a lot longer but uh well it was gonna lead me to my next point too is like have you

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_04]: have you ever like reached out to like Kirkman or anybody else behind the show I didn't seem to be like

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_02]: hey I'm still waiting on my spin-off. No I mean I think if the time comes and they offered

[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_02]: a spin-off I would love to do it but I'm not ever gonna pressure and or or try to you know put

[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_02]: that out there because if it's gonna happen that's you know they call the actors last usually

[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_02]: it's like we have this idea we've run it down the you know test markets and we've written in a

[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_02]: million times some Sunday and now we want to present it to the actors to see if they want to do

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_02]: not usually when we come in but most of the time we have very little control over that so

[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_02]: but I would love to I would love to play the game yeah different just a return to the character

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_04]: in some way or even if it's not your own spin-off but maybe an appearance on one of the

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah yeah I mean I I've been pitching a spin-off because I mean Darrell somehow made his way to

[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_02]: France so I'm like yeah because that can happen you know I was like well why don't we have

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_02]: uh Aaron and Gracie and a few other characters go down to South America because that's landlocked

[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_02]: obviously you could certainly make it take a it's like you know 20 days to get down there at least

[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_02]: but you could certainly find a way from Georgia on down into like Peru and I thought

[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_02]: it'll be really cool to have an episode or a series where like they're all fighting in like

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Inconruans and then you have like Incon Warriors fighting and they would just be like oh that'd be

[00:24:44] [SPEAKER_02]: really cool and they kind of awesome right yeah I think we need one of the ideas uh I don't know if

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I should say this but I think it's you know who cares I'm I'm gonna get some say anyway but they were

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_02]: having zombie monkeys the last season of the show and uh someone next to it at the last second but

[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_02]: they were gonna have zombie monkeys running a mark on the last season they're walking there and

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_02]: zombie monkeys yeah and they yeah yeah I mean which which it didn't yeah exactly I mean it didn't

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_02]: make a whole lot of sense because none of the animals could be infected in the previous seasons

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_02]: so we were like okay I guess it's because their DNA is close enough to hours or something

[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_02]: they were gonna find a way to you know crowbar that idea in there but they ended up not doing it because

[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_02]: the CGI was gonna be so absurdly expensive well knowing like Nick and Taro too because I've met

[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Greg and number of times two and I know he's a huge jaws fan like he restored the original zombie

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_02]: sharks I would be shark yeah that would be amazing I'm actually gonna see Greg again in September

[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_04]: so I might have to make a mention of this talk about zombie sharks they have a show we pinched

[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_02]: the guys who did shark NATO they'd be down they're like yes we'll do it let's do it right now yeah

[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_04]: it was zombie shark NATO oh I'm down for that the most terrifying terrifying war movie

[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_04]: available in me okay very scary now I can't do it I can't do it come on I'm so glad you actually

[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_04]: went into an impression too because I was actually about to shift gears into the impression

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_04]: side of things that's a nice little transition because one of the things that you've been

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_04]: come to know for been known for outside of the walking dead is you're the incredible

[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_04]: impressions that you do I've seen like was it variety that did the micro impression so was that

[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_04]: a fan of air yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I still laugh at that like the little micro as

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_04]: anybody seen the micro impressions vanity fair they're absolutely incredible how did you

[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_04]: like how did you discover that talent of it was it just something you practiced to develop or did

[00:26:37] [SPEAKER_02]: you kind of have it already and you discovered oh no no no I mean especially when I before I went

[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_02]: to the pubity there was no way I could ever emulate someone with any degree of accuracy like

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_02]: my first ever impression was Johnny Carson because money was very tight for my family growing up

[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_02]: and I realized that you know my parents fought it was always fighting about money you know it was

[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_02]: always like a lot of a lot of families I think money is always a huge factor and the only show

[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_02]: that seemed to take them out of themselves and get them to just laugh and calm down a bit was the

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_02]: night show and as a six year old boy I was like oh maybe from like Johnny the family won't fight

[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_02]: as much and it was you know the youngest of the families always trying to fix the vibe of the

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: family unit and yeah that's that's where it came from. That's kind of endearing and heartwarming

[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_04]: now to know that like that's what got you in no impressions was kind of like something to maybe even

[00:27:29] [SPEAKER_04]: kind of like rescue the family well not rescue it was also self preservation because okay

[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_02]: my parents fought my brothers were also angry and violent and so they used to be the shit out of me

[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_02]: so it was like really just self preservation is like if I can make my brothers laugh they won't beat

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_02]: me up as much as they usually do exactly yeah that was that's where it came from. I mean honestly

[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah so what's the process then when you start to develop an impression like when is it something

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_04]: is it literally just sitting in front of a mirror and and practicing it I don't do the mirror as much

[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm mostly just watch a person over and over again and you know really kind of just study

[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_02]: their their facial movement I feel like all humans are essentially just really unique woodwind

[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_02]: instruments you know and depending on how you hold your body and the different sounds going to come out

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: like for example James Gantel Fini you know jersey native I think he's a pretty good

[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_02]: he talked to his nose but he would shit forward on his on his throat you never saw him with

[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_02]: perfect stat you know posture like this he was always a bit like this he shit forward

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_02]: you say what are you doing he I'll break your legs can be you know like it how you sit on your voice

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_02]: and your throat will change the sound that comes out of it and I just really I need to see a person's

[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_02]: face if I'm gonna get there their voice right you know is there anybody that you have I and I would

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_04]: have to imagine you've done impressions of the people for the people have there been any that

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_02]: haven't gone so well sure yeah I don't do I don't do that anymore I did Norman read his

[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_02]: for Norman on sack because malicimate bride kept pushing me to do it because she had heard

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_02]: me do it one on one and I was like this is a bad idea like I was like telling you right now

[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_02]: everyone always wants to hear an impression of themselves until you actually do it for them

[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_02]: and then they're like I don't sound like you know like and I did Norman and he was like

[00:29:30] [SPEAKER_02]: all right and he's and then he he's like now do Darrell and I was like what and I'm like

[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_02]: so I did Darrell and he's like now do Norman talking to Darrell's like this is so meta and so weird I'm

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_02]: like I got and as soon as it was over I remember Denise who one of our executive producers she

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_02]: came over to me and tapped me on the shoulder was like it's been nice knowing you and I was like

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna get killed off of it and I said no but I also did my Larry David impression for Larry David

[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_02]: and that didn't go for one either so yeah I just did as a general rule I don't I don't

[00:30:01] [SPEAKER_04]: do the impressions for the people you're doing impressions that's exactly because I would

[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah I would have to imagine you're right nobody wants to hear an impression of himself or

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_04]: everybody wants to hear the impression of himself until they hear being pressured for the sex

[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_04]: it doesn't just go for a voicee there I remember you know this was going back a number of years

[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_04]: where I bet people to dress up like me for Halloween as a dare and then when I saw them do it I was

[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_04]: like I don't ever want to do this again because I just don't want to be a part of the same way

[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_02]: so they're they're poking fun on you in a gentle way but then you're like wait do I really

[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_04]: do I wear those shocks too yeah I don't wear shirts like that long yeah I'm wearing a shirt I'm

[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_04]: impressions I know you did Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy made you do like the Oscar speeches

[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_04]: with the impression what's it been like you know finding ever since the walking bed and

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_04]: and joining marble finding the notoriety where you're actually getting invited to be what's

[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_04]: it like it'd be invited like on all those like night shows and such and I mean that's

[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_02]: the the Kimmel thing I still that that's like an out of body experience because that was

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_02]: and still is the biggest you know talk show I've ever done and Jimmy was great he was super easy

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_02]: talk to him friendly but if you like if I'm being told you know I don't remember getting there

[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember doing the interview I don't remember a damn thing about it like I watch footage

[00:31:29] [SPEAKER_02]: of it sometimes and I'm like I don't remember being there at all it was just one of those moments

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_02]: where you're so full of anxiety and stress because you know it's basically live TV it's got a

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_02]: little bit of a delay but you know if you screw up your you're screwed you could have just been

[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_04]: somebody doing a really good impression of Ross Mark on that call and yeah have you ever run

[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_02]: anybody who does an impression of you oh no that'd be weird but it's funny because you know even

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_02]: today three different people were like you from Britain or you from Australia and I'm like do I

[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_02]: sound like that I think I've been doing impressions for so long I don't know what my real voice even

[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_02]: sounds like anymore because I'm from Colorado like I'm like the most regionally non-specific

[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_02]: accent in the country like people send news reporters to Colorado so they'll lose their accents

[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_02]: point and know that yeah it's it's they'll literally there's one of the best journalism

[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_02]: schools is in Colorado and they just send them there for a year to lose their accent because

[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Colorado's have the most boring non-descript accents in the country and that's where they get sent to so

[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_04]: when there's nobody from Colorado in the room right yeah well there you go right here oh you're from

[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Colorado you're right oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and I love Colorado but uh it just

[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_02]: uh not a voice that I consider unique it's it's just very like mid-range so um I don't even I

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_02]: think I just have a very monotone kind of even healed voice for the most part do you have any

[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_04]: impressions that are kind of like on the stove right now that you're you're kind of you're workshopping

[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_02]: well I I finally cracked my Jeff Bridges Jeff Bridges was on my list for a long time and I

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_02]: cannot get them there are my white whales they're my my mobile dick I'm like oh if I could ever

[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_02]: get their voices down I'd be happy you're in a pig and shit but hey just yeah that's that's an old

[00:33:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Colorado phrase yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah so yeah we don't hear a pig and

[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_02]: shit not too often here in New Jersey yes are that's a Colorado thing you know I live in Jersey too

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_02]: or don't judge Jersey Georgia what am I saying why is it uh I think what it is especially

[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_02]: with gasoline gozzings at Canadian but he does this like weird foe New York accent half the time

[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_02]: and the caprio same deal where it's like this strange like hybrid of LA in New York and I just

[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_02]: can never get it I've tried so many times but I can never get their voices so when you mentioned like

[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_04]: how he has like that foe you know accent from somewhere else and makes me think a Franco because I

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_04]: think James Franco is the same way his accent is nothing compared to where he's actually from.

[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I did finally crack Romney Malik recently too and I realized that Romney when he's speaking

[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_02]: he does just sort of like it's almost it's like he's got a stuff nose or something he's like

[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna hack into the main frame and it's a straight just I got I got to work on it's

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_02]: more but I feel like I'm getting there so if they ever do a Mr. Robot season five I'm I'm good to go

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah they do another queen movie where he's like almost unrecognizable as Remi and just completely

[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_02]: you know originally supposed to play him right no Sasha Burr and Colin pretty serious yeah I can't see

[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_02]: that was like for you well because I think yeah because he would be like it's like yeah I think

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_04]: do a great job but I think yeah Romney's got the musical background too like so he could

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_04]: he could definitely do it exactly yeah so yeah but you know kind of transitioning again from

[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_04]: impressions but moving on to staying on that note and moving on to Marvel you know we saw

[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_04]: you take over the role that Hugo Weaving had as Red Skull what was it like getting that phone

[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_02]: called it be brought into the Marley universe? Yeah was well the funny thing is like they

[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_02]: had me auditioned for a German Hugo Weaving Voice match which of course ended up being the clip from

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Captain America vs. Vendor but they didn't tell me what the project was it was

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_02]: what that was it called it was like it was called like

[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Lou Mary Lou I think was what it's called the the codename for Avengers and Fennel wearing game

[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_02]: so it's like codename Mary Lou and I'm like what the hell is this and so I sent it in didn't

[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_02]: hear anything for like a month and usually again if you don't hear anything right away you didn't book it

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and we had just finished filming season seven of the Walking Dead I flew back from Atlanta to LA

[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I was in my taxi home and then got the call and she's like you booked my manager said you booked

[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_02]: this thing I was like oh cool what what is that when is it when is it she's like oh what's

[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_02]: shooting tomorrow and Atlanta you're still there right I'm like oh shit I just left there and I just

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_02]: got to go back so I took the next flight out I took a red eye didn't sleep at all in the plane

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_02]: just looking for materials and you know it didn't even say stonekeeper it was like all coded

[00:36:11] [SPEAKER_02]: names and everything I just said I don't know what the hell this is but I'll do my best you know

[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_02]: and I got to set and there's like 150 people wait for me I'm like what the hell is this like

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was a voiceover job you know and they had me shave my beard and they put me in the

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_02]: motion capture suit and I'm like what is going on here and that's when they the guy put in the

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_02]: dots on my face for the head camera because they basically just need to be able to like have a

[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_02]: clean slate to work off of and the beard wouldn't interfere with that and he kind of stopped for a

[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_02]: thing he's like you don't know what we're working on do you there's like I didn't tell me shit he's like

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: this is the new Avengers movie they're like oh Jesus and I think it's like like ran to the bathroom

[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_02]: as soon as I could just like dry heaving with a good god you know because you know I've been

[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_02]: a dream since X men since I watched X men the animated series as a kid to work yeah to work in

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_02]: that world that was my dream and now I'm getting a chance to do it I'm like you gotta be kidding

[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_02]: so yeah it's it's funny how they I never thought the impressions would lead to more

[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_02]: gigs like that or gigs like an X men with red skull with the old tron like never thought

[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_02]: a million years that that would be the trajectory you know because you just think impressions are

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_02]: good for Santa Comedy or sketch you never think it will translate to anything like Marvel you

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_02]: know it's it's wild you know yeah exactly yeah yeah yeah yeah not much but yeah yeah yeah yeah

[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah I mean you talk about being a huge fan of the original X men yeah the X man animated series

[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_04]: which made you want to get in the Marvel but now you are actually in the X man animated series

[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_04]: everybody doesn't know Ross is the new voice of professor X your your professor Xavier

[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_04]: what's that like you are literally living the dream that you had as a kid you are part of

[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_04]: something that got you into the entertainment industry you know the first episode of

[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_02]: the Walking Dead when Rick wakes up you know in the calm monies like oh shit and a lot of people

[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_02]: theorize that that was everything that happened after that was just a dream you know and wouldn't

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_02]: be funny either finale was just him waking up and be like oh god it was all dream you know

[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_02]: the Bob Newheart treatment yeah exactly yeah which I still think would be a funny way to end

[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_02]: the show if they ever wanted to do that but I still think that I still think that at one point

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna wake up in some of the saying in silence real big oh buddy you didn't have your

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_02]: medicine like oh god this is all been a dream on going crap so you know you just you never think

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_02]: as a kid or or that you're gonna get to actually work in the worlds that you were just so much

[00:38:43] [SPEAKER_02]: in love with as a kid like Star Wars Star Trek and Marvel where my that was my jam you know

[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_02]: and Luny tunes and Tony tunes and the Dark Wing Dark I mean that was that was what I grew up with

[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_02]: and you just never assume that's actually gonna come to reality come to fruition I mean

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_02]: and yeah I'm just I'm just again happy you're gonna pick and shit to be a part of it yeah so yeah

[00:39:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to open it back up the questions if anybody does have any questions for Ross please feel

[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_04]: free to step up to the microphone yeah it's purely just a weekend capture the audio all that yeah

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_02]: two questions do you like applesauce I love applesauce I don't know anyone who doesn't love applesauce yeah

[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I had met Tom a couple times and he was Tom pain yes yeah super excited about the potential story

[00:39:34] [SPEAKER_00]: you guys were supposed to have he was like yeah they're gonna follow it's an comic please hold me

[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_00]: and then they dropped him they dropped they took they told him that's what they had told him

[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_00]: interesting I was just wondering do you know why they did because there were same sex relationships

[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Simon came to the two of you it was dropped he was killed often yeah like was it fans that were like

[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_02]: on a phobic saying no it's pretty very well could have been that I mean unfortunately the

[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_02]: response to erineric initially was not very positive I hate to say so it could have been that I

[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_02]: suppose but I think also they just had a very clear arc that they were trying to tell that season nine

[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_02]: and part of it led into the whisperer war and they really wanted to I think offer

[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Jesus up as a sacrifice which is very biblical I suppose you know yeah yeah yeah that's

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_02]: talk because he was very yeah I mean but I will say Tom and I once we found out that they weren't

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_02]: going to be exploring that because in the comics they are a badass duo and they're the ones that

[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_02]: down beta in the comics you know and it was a great sequence and it was so we were really looking

[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_02]: forward to that but even if they weren't going to explore it on the actual show on the screen Tom and I

[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_02]: decided to work out a bit of a backstory before that six year time jump so we decided that we did

[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_02]: have a relationship even though it didn't work out we decided that was important for our character

[00:41:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think it shows on screen you know when you see that especially that that great fighting

[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_02]: sequence where Jesus is kind of trying to help Aaron you know with some martial arts moves you can tell

[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_02]: that there's you know there's a history there and I think that that only makes the characters

[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_02]: more interesting and that characterization more evolved you know all right so what happened which

[00:41:23] [SPEAKER_02]: just didn't see exactly we decided it was important to happen even if they weren't going to show

[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah yeah thank you great question love the outfit by the way thanks McCack girl made and I'm proud

[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_03]: one oh nice so I want to know what your thoughts now I know this is a bit old but what

[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_03]: your thoughts on megan in tech and seven tech and seven the fighting game I didn't even know

[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_03]: whoa yeah this was a few years back so megan was a guest character in his seventh game and

[00:42:06] [SPEAKER_03]: I remember a scene and I was like they really put him in the game wow okay this is news to me

[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_02]: was he a good fighter actually he got some good combos open he have his iconic um bar

[00:42:20] [SPEAKER_03]: but that he had loose heel of course that's awesome and there's actually a stage based off

[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_02]: of this of the hideout oh wow okay so oh you're the phone call yeah okay I said you can answer it

[00:42:35] [SPEAKER_02]: okay yeah okay okay all right all right well well I'll answer that question I guess

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_02]: that's the I didn't know about that but I am excited about Mortal Kombat having homelander in it

[00:42:53] [SPEAKER_02]: that's just I just think homelanders one of the most devious devious bastards in New York City

[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_02]: homelanders is one of the coolest villains in the TV today I think and that show man it just gets

[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah who was watching the boys oh nice tell ya it it gets like anytime you think they can only

[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_04]: they can't go any further just wait till the next episode and they take it to step further I don't

[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_02]: know that man scene was yeah yeah yeah yeah here we're guys in here yeah yeah that was my question

[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_05]: so you mentioned watching celebrities and how they're posture lens u to their impression what

[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_05]: about with Charles Xavier where it's a voice is it just from hearing it most your life being a fan

[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_02]: just knowing the voice from that yeah it's funny when they when they sent the audition

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_02]: audition for Magneto and for Charles Xavier and I I don't know I this is gonna sound cocky but I was

[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_02]: like I got this like I was just like it's already so ingrained in my head I've seen this show so many

[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_02]: times that I did a whole audition before even listening to the the reference because I was like

[00:44:04] [SPEAKER_02]: it's it's already up here and there were a few things I had a tweak here and there but I got to say like

[00:44:10] [SPEAKER_02]: those some voices just stay with you you know and I think like Dark Wing Duck from childhood even

[00:44:16] [SPEAKER_02]: though I can't I can't produce that voice Jim Cummings who does Dark Wing freaking phenomenal and

[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_02]: you know I'll never be the his caliber I think he's just one of the best voice actors in the world

[00:44:28] [SPEAKER_02]: but like there's some voices that you can just completely picture in your head that makes sense

[00:44:34] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah it's just it's just in there and I think even though there's no physical reference because obviously

[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_02]: we never saw a set-direct do it on on camera it just was up there you know and I love I love

[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_02]: getting a chance to play that guy because he's just you know he's one of the best you can

[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_02]: sit out there yeah one of us cute caretaker thank you thank you I know we're coming to the end

[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_04]: of our time but we still have like like two minutes left so yeah come on up yeah yeah

[00:45:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it but X-Men 97 has got some amazing episodes

[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_02]: and sequences but I think if I'm being honest like episode five which in Nocia I mean that's just

[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_02]: one of the most heartbreaking episode of TV I think I've ever seen in my life it's just so well written

[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_02]: it's so well animated and I really do think that that is the show that I'm most proud of currently

[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I just think everybody who works on that show was a fan of the original and it shows you know

[00:45:45] [SPEAKER_02]: because no one wants to let the inner fan in themselves or the new fans down they want to make sure

[00:45:51] [SPEAKER_02]: that we're all operating on our best cylinders and producing the best content imaginable that's

[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_04]: the game bit episode yeah yeah but but I'm leaving it at that just to not spoil anything

[00:46:03] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah that episode let's need like dropped off by the end of that what's like a sub bass in it

[00:46:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean anytime you feature a sub bass you know it's a good episode you know I mean

[00:46:13] [SPEAKER_04]: so you've done the walking dead you've done marvel what's next on the list wish list for you

[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_02]: to you I mean I've played Han Solo a few times in the Star Wars universe for animated stuff

[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_02]: and Lego Star Wars and a Lego Star Wars video game but I would really love to play a new Star Wars

[00:46:32] [SPEAKER_02]: character there's like there's a character named Revan from the oh I heard an ool yeah I see yeah

[00:46:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean he's half jet I have Sith before that was even really considered a thing and he just seems like

[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_02]: a very complex character that I I would love to play in so I just also anytime you get to play villain

[00:46:54] [SPEAKER_02]: that's just so much more fun I think I think most actors will tell you like villains are just

[00:46:58] [SPEAKER_02]: more fun to play I mean they have more of an interesting character arc and it's just it's just interesting

[00:47:03] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah anything coming up that we can keep an eye on for for you yeah some a lot of these things

[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_02]: that can't talk about because of course in the as but X-Men 97 we're almost done recording season two

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think season three already got picked up yep yeah and so we're gonna start working on season three soon

[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and an invincible season three I think we're almost done recording that I oh oh yeah mega mind is now

[00:47:26] [SPEAKER_02]: out on epicop so I play music man I play Brad Pitt's character what it tells me I played

[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Metroman Metroman sorry I said I played Metroman and then Disney Speed Storm I play Reket Ralph

[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_01]: it's pretty fun game he is like a you pull like Mario Carb but for Disney characters it's really cool

[00:47:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna wreck it yeah I can't think of a better way to end the panels than with that lady

[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_04]: do you know how about one more huge round of applause her ass thanks guys if you haven't already make

[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_04]: sure you go to his table and say hi thank you so much thanks guys
