[00:00:00] Oh
[00:00:12] You fucking asshole I know you are miss. How are you I'm trying to build bridges here you couldn't fucking build
[00:00:19] Jeff bridges
[00:00:21] What's going on what's wrong this man refuses to coach me he refuses to stop being an asshole okay Roy
[00:00:26] You're not gonna like this, but right now Jamie here's being the mature one I'll be a prick. Okay. I will then I'll win. I'm actually curious about that myself too. I't recapped it to yet because I was saving it for the podcast, but I got to see Brick Gold scene this week. I'm so jealous. How was that? That show.
[00:03:00] Thursday night.
[00:03:01] So the show was at the Met in. I took the train in the suburban station, which lets you out right by city hall. And then I took the subway because the Met is on Broad Street. This is speaking for anybody who's familiar with Philadelphia.
[00:04:21] There's a subway that runs up and down Broad Street.
[00:04:23] So I, it was a 20 minute train ride into the ticket. You need to be in shape when you buy a mints and eat tickets
[00:07:01] Because there's an elevator obviously, but it fills up it takes it? Did he do it? Did he do it? Did he do any of it? No, he didn't do the Christmas Carol. He did, however, talk about one of the story. I don't want to reveal too much of anybody who might have tickets and plans to go see him. Yeah, Joe, press fast forward. No, don't press fast forward because it's he might not cover the same stuff because I've had people who have seen him and say he does this. And then he never did it for us.
[00:07:03] So I think he rotates material depending on where he's at. Did it go off well? Cause it's a great word. No, he goes off great. And that's the whole point of the bit. Like he says, like, we're going to talk about this. He's like, and it's going to make some of you uncomfortable. He's like, but that's what I don't get. Like why does this word make so many people uncomfortable in this country? Cause in my country, we use it for everything.
[00:08:20] It's like, it's just the inflection.
[00:08:22] Because words have power.
[00:08:23] Cause words have power.
[00:08:25] I hard disagree with him know, it is $70. However, what I did do was I text my friend. I mentioned this last episode from one of my friends who works, who's still one of the members of that morning show I used to work for. Oh, yeah. And I text him as I was leaving the show and I was like, dude, I was like, is there anyway? I was like, Brekle, I just left the Brekle scene show and no, he's in town tomorrow.
[00:09:42] And I do.
[00:09:42] Is there any chance you guys have him in studio tomorrow morning?
[00:09:46] And he texts me back, that's great. Yeah. So then when the show was over, my train didn't
[00:11:04] leave until 10 59. So I had an hour to get back to the About it. It was Philadelphia at night, you know. The winter. And there was no rain. Like the rain had stopped. So I was like, it's just perfect. Like I'm just going to walk through the city and walk back to the train station, which is what I did. I had my earbuds in my ears. I was listening to music all the way back. And it was a good night. It was a really good night.
[00:12:21] She, you know what?
[00:12:24] I would love to see Brett Goldstein.
[00:12:26] I really would.
[00:12:28] And I'd love to go back to Philly. It's in India. It's right by Palm Springs and the people that live there get pissed. I heard good after time. I heard Coachella is dying. Yeah. Well, they turned it into a hipster trendy. They forgot why they made Coachella. Like, this is just an aside and I'm sorry for doing this because it's like, they're not even getting the big groups coming in anymore. Like, and- Because it sucks. And attendance is like dropping every year. And like to the point where like, I think that the article that I saw, or the report that I saw on the local news here,
[00:15:00] when they were talking about it,
[00:15:01] said that like they give Coachella maybe five more years.
[00:15:04] But what they're not gonna do is-
[00:15:05] What they should do is they should go back
[00:15:06] to their original business model. they lost what they were about. My opinion, Rage Against the Machine, was the last good year. Yeah, I mean, and look, I'm with you. There's nothing like a good festival. I love festivals. I went to, the last festival I went to, it's been a while, the last festival I went to was in 2011 and it was headlined by Dave Matthews Band,
[00:16:23] because I'm a huge Dave Matthews Band fan.
[00:16:25] It was headlined by Dave Matthews Band, band. Ray Lamontang, I think is the name. Yeah, yeah. Flaming lips. O.A.R. Dr. Dog, Amos Lee, Michael Franti and Spearhead. Oh, Michael Franti is my favorite right now. I listen to Michael Franti all winter because it makes me feel happy all winter.
[00:17:42] Damien Marley was there. I've seen Damien Marley in concert. He's pretty good.
[00:18:42] horse track field or whatever.
[00:18:48] So we were all in like knee to waste high water with horse manure everywhere. Oh, that's fun.
[00:18:49] And you know what?
[00:18:50] It was awesome.
[00:18:55] But I mean, again, getting back to the reason why we're talking about this.
[00:18:58] Um, yeah, Brett Goldstein was great.
[00:19:01] If you have the opportunity, if he's come to your town, he's still adding more dates
[00:19:05] because I think he's having a lot of fun.
[00:19:07] Is he going to North Carolina?
[00:20:04] He doesn't get political, but you can tell some of the jokes. You know where he sides.
[00:20:06] Yeah.
[00:20:07] Well, is he sane?
[00:20:10] Yes, he's sane.
[00:20:13] Well, there you go.
[00:20:15] So just to lead into our Ted Lasso because I do like doing a ladybug count every once in a while.
[00:20:22] But you don't usually keep it on the podcast.
[00:20:24] We usually do it before we start recording.
[00:20:25] Oh, really?
[00:20:26] I thought that was good. there will be at least a dozen. And it's all winter, and then they disappear for the year. And they go back outside. And two winters now, we have had, I want to call it Ladybug Farm. You could. Or Ladybug Ranch or whatever. It's just funny. Anyways, Ladybug count to seven.
[00:21:40] Okay.
[00:21:41] I found out.
[00:21:42] With quite a few dead ones.
[00:21:43] Well, that just brought it down. just computer generated or do the users make their names? I think users make their names because Rebecca's is boss lady. Okay, but what does Sam's mean then? What is Sam's? Do you have? It's like LVN something. Do you happen to know what it is off the top of your head?
[00:23:00] Because maybe we can kind of.
[00:23:02] All right.
[00:23:02] So while you're looking at.
[00:23:03] LDN 152.
[00:23:05] LDN for London. So I guess that makes sense. So maybe they were throwing that in there before they did the rom-com heady reference. What did you say? Unism. Yeah, maybe. Prom communism.
[00:24:21] Yeah.
[00:24:27] So maybe they threw that in there knowing they put that reference in there before they even did the rom-communism episode.
[00:24:29] Okay. listeners fall when it comes to like the romcom stuff. And I think you were the only one that were like, I didn't like this episode because I had a hard time with this episode because I don't like romcom. There were other so many people that were like, I don't like romcoms either. But I love this episode. And that's okay. You know, that's totally fine. I put it out
[00:25:41] there. And hey, if I started a conversation, then that's good
[00:25:44] too.
[00:25:45] Yeah. And I just want that Ted Lasso's use of them was very tongue in cheek and they knew they were doing it intentionally. And for that reason, I appreciated them and actually enjoyed it. If it felt forced and it felt like they were trying to do it, like subtly, I would have
[00:27:04] felt the same way as you, but knowing it? He's just like, I don't want to do this. You sure we didn't find another better signal than this?
[00:28:20] Nope.
[00:28:21] Now.
[00:28:22] And he hides it under his coat.
[00:28:24] Even though the camera is showing his day.
[00:28:26] Everyone in the world. He gets fouled by that same player. Everybody gets upset that he gets fouled even though Jamie knew he'd goed at him into it. And then he takes that shot and Roy is like, well, should we call him trying to trick play? He's like, nope, no need, little pricks gotta make it from there. And they're like, no, it's too long.
[00:29:42] And he kicks it and he makes that shot. And then that right there is where all this key stuff
[00:29:45] comes in because you, he has his own breakthrough that he can coach Jamie, right?
[00:31:02] He can and Jamie and Jamie has his breakthrough with,
[00:31:06] okay, we can work together. anybody that has seen the show knows that this partnership just gets stronger every single episode. This is our breakthrough episode with Roy and Jamie. And I really think that this is one of the best parts of Ted Lasso as a whole,
[00:32:20] is this relationship, is how he had for Roy Kent and it's kind of cracking through in small moments, you know? And that to me is the fun part because Jamie is at his core.
[00:33:44] Jamie is still a little boy who is needed to pull back though. You know what I mean? He needed the respect and the acceptance of his teammates because he came back into an already solidified team where they got healthier when he left.
[00:35:00] And now it's like the cancer has grown back, right?
[00:35:04] So what are we going to do here?
[00:36:03] Jamie putting on a show for our team to win.
[00:36:03] Yeah.
[00:36:06] You know, it supports this is a big difference.
[00:36:09] This is a matter of this isn't a selfish.
[00:36:11] This is this isn't a selfish prick.
[00:36:13] This is a supportive prick.
[00:36:14] Yeah.
[00:36:17] I know it sounds weird. I forgot the signal.
[00:36:19] I forgot the signal was the middle finger.
[00:36:22] I for some reason was expecting them to all grab their balls.
[00:36:27] I don't know why that is because he was.
[00:37:22] publicly give Jamie the finger. Oh, if he could have given two fingers, I think he would have.
[00:37:25] Yeah. So there's like, yes, it is the signal, but it means something different to all four
[00:37:31] of the coaches individually, too.
[00:37:34] I do enjoy just because you mentioned Coach Beard.
[00:37:38] I really, really, one of my favorite parts of the whole episode was Jamie and Beard alone
[00:37:44] together. And he just looks at me, goes, I don't really physically gets pushed to the side when Jamie makes the point, Ted physically moves Nate to go congratulate Roy. So he is physically pushed to the side. I know Nate just wants to celebrate with Ted and the fact that they made a point.
[00:39:02] Ted pushes him to the side.
[00:39:04] It wasn't Nate's moment.
[00:39:06] No, it wasn't.
[00:39:07] It was absolutely Roy's coaching, right? Nate's whole stance of coaching from what we've seen in season two is ridicule
[00:40:22] and putting them down, right?
[00:41:26] tip. He still has the same, you know, FU attitude that that Roy always has. However, he gives him something that Colin can use on the pitch, whereas Nate is just trying to
[00:41:33] put him down and hoping that that gets him angry enough to mobilize, which if if Nate
[00:41:40] was actually self aware, he would see that the ridicule is what has kept Nate down most somebody who feels like you've been struck by lightning, right? Yeah. That whole speech is said in his angry Roy voice, but it's all true. It's all empowering, you know, and it gets and it shakes Rebecca out of her settling mind, you know? Yeah. Yeah. So actually, that's a good point.
[00:43:00] Like we kind of saw a little bit of early on coach Roy before we saw coach Roy in that
[00:43:06] he was coaching Rebecca.
[00:43:07] Yeah.
[00:44:26] Like we see that like Royce coaching went hand in hand with Dr. Sharon's therapy.
[00:44:28] Mm hmm.
[00:44:28] Yeah. like the other team scored another point and Richmond needs to come back. Nate has an idea, so what does he do? He steps forward. He spits because that's his thing now apparently. And then he steps forward and gives the order. Right. But the big difference is that I don't know. And he does well in that moment.
[00:45:41] Not only does he do well,
[00:45:44] but he gets praised by Roy and Nate or and beard. let him do it. They said, you know what? And that is that's the lasso effect right there. You know, beard and Roy have already been changed into better people because of Ted. Nate has not taken the bait. But here's my. Ted as his ammunition for why he's not getting what he views as quote unquote his.
[00:48:06] walks into the office, who is Beard talking to? Who is Beard in, usually engrossed in conversation with Nate? Nate, yeah.
[00:48:09] Those two have been talking to each other in the background and have developed a relationship
[00:48:15] with each other that really nobody's paying attention to. It's just in the background.
[00:48:20] This episode, Beard and Nate, I said, Beard, I know. Sorry. I was just reemphasizing it. Yeah, he doesn't realize that it's wonder kind that, you know, completely different spelling. Well, in two letters, it's it's completely different. But yeah, you
[00:49:41] know, he makes that mistake and the news runs on Ted. Ted is going through a divorce. He's having severe anxiety that up until the last moment of this episode,
[00:51:01] he's been largely ignoring.
[00:51:04] He's living in a new country.
[00:51:06] He's away from his son. And cause we see that this episode when it comes to beard and Jane, beard and Jane, when it comes to Higgins, Higgins wants to say something because he thinks this is a toxic relationship with beard and Jane, which it is. Yeah. And at least right now it's toxic. Um, we won't say too much about the future, but right now, yeah, it definitely
[00:52:21] seems a little toxic, but everybody is telling,
[00:52:24] hey, tell me, Higgins, like, no, don't say anything.
[00:53:24] said, you can be resented for it. And that's because when you're in the situation, like beard is, you don't see it that way. So unless you're from the, you don't see it's the whole
[00:53:31] adage. Like you, you see things better from the outside than you do from the inside. Beard
[00:53:35] doesn't see it as a toxic relationship, because he's in the relationship. Everybody else sees
[00:53:39] it. But the beauty thing about beard was that when Higgins actually did say something, he
[00:54:43] Nate had any point, any part to play in it. I think Nate is suffering because of it.
[00:54:47] Nate is not suffering.
[00:54:48] He's affected.
[00:54:51] Maybe, I don't know.
[00:54:52] I mean, he's just so mean right now.
[00:54:55] You know, I mean, this whole season,
[00:54:58] you and I have been saying that we see now the cracks, right?
[00:55:02] When you're on a rewatch, you see the cracks
[00:55:04] because you know what's gonna happen ultimately.
[00:55:07] So you're on the lookout for it giving, but enough that I can see it. Okay, I can see it. I mean, there are there's characters that, and I'm not going to say too much, but there I mean, there's characters that I kind of just wrote off as in, like, Oh, this is filler. This is just part of the story, you know, for the sake of moving the story forward, that now I'm like, Oh, no, this character is horrible.
[00:56:24] 100%.
[00:56:25] Yeah, we both know who we're talking about.
[00:56:27] Yep.
[00:57:27] Right that he's got this. It's almost like he's in manic mode, you know when like people that are manic depressive, you know
[00:57:31] They go up. They go down. They go up. They go down and it's severe
[00:57:37] You know and we see at the beginning of this episode Ted is up. He is up up up up up up right
[00:57:43] He's talking more than we've ever seen him talk really in the beginning. He's talking to everyone
[00:59:00] He has got his hands and everyone's life. phone call from Henry School. He is helpless. He cannot help at all. And it's something very small. His kid forgot his lunch. You know, he's missing out the day to day of his life, of his son's life. That I think is the kicker. It's not that there's a panic moment. It's that I nothing. And he had to tell the school I work in London, which means that they're gonna cross that name off the list at the school. And that is devastating. And then we see, like you said, like he is on a high, high to the point where he takes that phone call,
[01:00:20] it sits with him and then it takes seeing Jamie
[01:00:24] celebrating scoring a point to kind of click from the smallest thing they can come out of nowhere and they can crush you. It doesn't matter what scenario that you're in. And as you mentioned too, like when he leaves at a key point, it almost costs Richmond the game. A fish cake. What's that? Remember he said it was, the commentator said,
[01:01:41] it's the destructive force of a fish cake
[01:01:44] can have on a team or something like that. and that he is giving in. He is giving in and he is turning to Dr. Sharon. I think that he also needed to trust her in order to be on that couch. And while she doesn't give up a lot of herself to make Ted comfortable, she has stayed consistent long enough
[01:03:00] for Ted to trust the consistency
[01:03:03] of the mysteriousness of Dr. Sharon.
[01:03:07] Yeah, 100%. how underutilized Dr. Sharon has been this entire season on screen utilized. So I'm excited to see more of Dr. Sharon coming up in the rest of this season. And I'm wondering if the writers felt like they might have underutilized her in season two, which is why they use Trent Krimm
[01:04:20] as much as they do in season three.
[01:04:23] But I could be just overthinking that.
[01:04:28] I don't know if you've realized it, but they dressed her in very soft colors this episode. She was white and neutrals, pinks, pale blues. They softened her much more than they have in the past.
[01:05:44] And I think it's because they needed her to be a daughter and not a boss lady.
[01:05:45] Yeah. This episode and it worked.
[01:05:48] I can see that.
[01:06:42] in that scene where she's like looking at her mom like, what the hell are you talking about?
[01:06:44] Right.
[01:06:45] Everybody else is so engrossed in this conversation,
[01:06:47] but Rebecca, why are you speaking?
[01:06:50] Like what are you talking about?
[01:06:51] But then Deborah goes to the bathroom
[01:06:53] and Rebecca reveals to Ted and Keeley
[01:06:56] why she's not engrossed in this story.
[01:07:00] And we learn that Deborah's been doing this
[01:07:03] since Rebecca's been in college.
[01:07:08] Yeah. Okay, there's another episode that's coming this season that this is I think this is setting up. Yeah Okay, I can see that I just I don't know I am I really really like Rebecca in this episode because we see We see all of her softer sides. We see her as a daughter. We see her as this vulnerable woman who is
[01:08:25] Having this
[01:09:23] Yeah, and then her mom proves Rebecca right.
[01:09:25] Yeah.
[01:09:27] You know that she went back. Dad got me a Tesla.
[01:09:28] Oh my gosh.
[01:09:29] I would just I would rip it up.
[01:09:31] I'd rip it up and I'd throw the shepherds by away.
[01:09:34] No, it's a shepherd's pie.
[01:09:35] I don't care.
[01:09:36] I'd be so mad.
[01:09:37] It's a cheesy top shepherds pie.
[01:09:40] Whatever.
[01:09:41] I mean, that's like.
[01:09:42] Listen, I love shepherds pie.
[01:09:45] I love it.
[01:09:46] I love it so much that I want to make it right now.
[01:10:43] when Ted is revealed on the couch, he's wearing his jacket. Oh, I didn't even notice that.
[01:10:45] Yeah, that was a little nitpick for me.
[01:10:47] Like I can easily let it go.
[01:10:48] But when he sits up in Dr. Sharon's office,
[01:10:52] he's wearing his jacket.
[01:10:54] Yeah, okay, weird.
[01:10:55] I didn't even notice that.
[01:10:56] I was crying by that time though, so.
[01:10:59] I'm telling you, I mentioned this earlier on,
[01:11:02] I think more so in season one
[01:11:03] when we talked about the let it go moment,
[01:11:06] which was another panic attack moment for Ted. would be a really good one because it feels like every character is confronting something about themselves. You know, Rebecca is confronting the fact that her mom has this horrible psychological cycle that she puts everybody through all the time. You have Nate confronting his own confidence.
[01:12:22] You have Beard confronting his relationship with Jane. bottom while watching Bake Off. It was just, I love that moment. What's your name in the background? Who was like shaking? Yeah, she was shaking. Rudy, just talking bottom part. So can you can you ask them to stop yelling at the football? Oh, they're not watching football. They're watching this week's Bake Off.
[01:13:42] So true. It's so true.
[01:13:43] I do the same thing.
[01:13:47] I don't know if I chant, it's so cute. Crazy. Do you have work? Yeah, a little bit. Sam, a little bit. But it was funny too, because we see Rebecca is checking their messages at the end of the game. And we know, because we've already seen the series, that there's a clear reason why he hasn't responded yet, because he's been on the pitch.
[01:15:01] And like we said last episode, they think that's a little too far. Oh, I do. I know what and it was perfect the way that it was and colly, I need more of this show. I'm not again. We're not saying what his backstory is for anybody who hasn't
[01:17:40] watched. We're just saying you got away to while. Enjoy the mystery of coach beard
[01:18:42] coming from more and more as we watch this. I can see more and more where Nate is coming from.
[01:18:46] But there was a way to deal with it.
[01:18:48] Oh, I'm not saying Nate is correct.
[01:18:51] No, the way that Nate,
[01:18:52] the way that Nate dealt with it was so awful
[01:18:57] that it, I think it took, it put the team back.
[01:19:02] It set them back.
[01:19:05] Well, and I also think it's kind of sees that they won without him. Like he took a backseat and wasn't really playing apart in this win, but they still won. Yeah. That's a hard pill for Nate to swallow. Well, because... It's only going to make it worse. Right. Right, right, right. And we see that he becomes a worse and worse version of himself for most of season three.
[01:20:21] A good portion of season three.
[01:20:23] Yeah.
[01:20:23] He's intolerable.
[01:20:25] Absolutely. Yeah, I feel like him and Rebecca could go out for lunch and like have a really good conversation about Yeah, I could see that as well um We talked a little bit about Um, you know, Sam and and Rebecca and
[01:21:41] God like there's so i'm so happy. We don't have to talk about like hiding who the talk around it. Yeah, we're not yeah
[01:22:52] I mentioned this earlier too about how like that is a toxic relationship right now, but the more we see Jane and beard together after beard after hours in particular,
[01:23:08] we start to realize how alike these two characters really are beard and Jane work together because they are both so I only dysfunctional that somehow when they're together they even each other out. that scares Beard, which is appropriate because Rebecca says earlier, like, oh, I've seen her kind of just like hiding in the shadows in the parking lot. Like we see her jump out and, you know, she says the beard, you know, like, oh, you know, he was, he like, he's, he's eye candy, but the more you get to know him, you find out like he's just stupid. And Beard visibly relaxes.
[01:24:23] Yeah. He takes a breath.
[01:25:27] I know I get it. There was something that you said to ask you to kind of dive into a little bit more. And I can't remember, was it Nate? More Nate stuff?
[01:25:30] I don't know.
[01:25:31] Okay.
[01:25:32] That's sad.
[01:25:34] The only other thing I have for spoilers and I don't even know how much we can go into it too,
[01:25:41] is that I love one of the most popular things about this and one of the running things that Ted made them better. Yeah. So yeah, just Ted, Ted to me is if Ted never joined Richmond, they would never have the Richmond way. No, Roy Kent would have never come back as a coach. He would have retired. Amy Tarte would have been an asshole and probably he would have done the ecstasy for a year. Yeah. Yeah. Episode, whatever that was.
[01:27:02] Um, you know, like, Keeley would probably never have been doing PR. to. So the barking means it's over. You listened to the whole thing, asshole. I know you did. Those offices are not soundproof. He is listening to the conversation. And we know that he's listening because Higgins hears Beard's entire conversation with Jane. Yep. You know what I mean? Roy is he's kind of an
[01:28:21] outside diamond dog at this point. Yeah. I's still the poster of Roy is still hanging in his boyhood bedroom. And so is someone else's poster. Yeah. Was it really and Roy and Jamie all sitting on Jamie's bed during one of those moments? Well, no, because I so I think it's I can't remember which poster is revealed first,
[01:29:45] but we see the moment where they're in the three of them are in Jamie's bedroom and one going forward now with Roy and Jamie together. God, it's so yep. It's such a great minute, especially, especially when they start competing over Keeley again. I like it when they arrive drunk at her door. Yep. I need season three to be here already. All right. I think I'm done. Yeah, I don't think I have rid of my quotes. Yeah. Beard tells him to look it up. So I did look it up and Philistines, a person who is hostile or indifferent to the culture in the arts or who has no understanding of them, which is very clearly Jamie, but also at the same time. It's very not Jamie because Jamie Jamie has proven in moments that he is smart.
[01:32:26] Yeah, he just chooses to be the dumbass.
[01:33:21] It's a great insult. Come back.
[01:33:22] I have, oh, I have from, I think it's Jeremy.
[01:33:30] Jeremy, I think it's Jeremy.
[01:33:32] I don't know.
[01:33:33] I will channel my rage and enthusiasm into ways to help my community.
[01:33:38] We may give him the looks about what in the burn the bar down.
[01:33:45] I mean, we got what I mean, what we got. Oh, that's the clip. That's the clip at the beginning of the episode. Yeah, it's just the best. You fucked him up. Okay. Expound. You've made him a team player. You've got him to pass and shit. And in doing so, you've made him average. Cause Jamie deep down at your core, you're a prick.
[01:35:02] Hey, Roy, you know, you're paid to coach the whole team, right?
[01:36:23] No, no, that's fine. Yeah. Well, you tell Mr. Mr. Puffa stuff I said a low for people born in the early to mid 70s. Uh, let's see.
[01:36:24] What else do we have?
[01:36:25] This is what a fish pie can do to a team.
[01:36:27] Yep.
[01:37:25] you get to read some of the ones that are best for you.
[01:37:26] They're three.
[01:37:28] So why don't you start us off? Okay, Lindsey Schlich, Ty, Lindsey.
[01:37:32] I had forgotten about Rebecca's mom.
[01:37:34] And here I was thinking the only two
[01:37:36] distasteful characters were Nate and Rupert.
[01:37:39] Well, Deborah maybe isn't as bad.
[01:37:42] She is certainly someone I could do without, I agree.
[01:37:45] Oh, well, I guess we you know which episode I'm talking about. Yep. So I'll just say never going to give you up in that all kind of quick. Never going to let you down. Next one comes from Alex Kruger. Alex says, every time this episode starts and I hear Arctic monkeys, I smile so wide. I love Arctic monkeys. So
[01:39:01] I'm glad. Yeah, there's a good band. Big props to Harriet Waller for playing two very complex That hits us both very hard, Alex. Like both of us. When I saw this week's title, all I could think of was the coaches flipping the bird. This show captures panic attacks so utterly well. It doesn't oversell it or overplay it, but really conveys the inevitability to control your internal battle.
[01:40:21] And lastly, I find it so interesting that Roy gave Nate a very heartfelt congratulations
[01:41:24] involved like Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson and like there's a lot of people that are involved in this topic. Sounds like you're gonna have to go back into the Lost Universe.
[01:41:30] We might maybe by the time we finish season three of Ted Lasso that doc will be out and we can talk
[01:41:36] about it. Yeah. Okay. Last last piece of written feedback that we have is from Dave. Thank you reference. Roy is still resisting the diamond dogs. The dichotomy of Nate and Roy's coaching styles. The way Jamie tries to win over Roy is fantastic. I'm an ugly, ugly boy. And finally talking with Dr. Sharon, can't wait to hear your insight and all the drops. Keep up the great work.
[01:43:01] Thanks Dave.
[01:43:03] And Dave's even on my side for romcom.
[01:43:05] Oh yeah.
[01:43:06] Listen, I get it.
[01:43:07] I know I'm to the signal. So many great things in this episode. The Diamond Dogs getting to talk about beard and jeans, toxic relationship.
[01:44:23] The back and forth between Roy and Jamie and letting out the prick.
[01:45:27] relationship with Dr. Sharon. And finally, we get the reveal of Sam Obisanya and Rebecca and really looking forward to the dynamics here and where it goes. So I really love this
[01:45:35] episode and looking forward to the next one. Until then, this has been Jason and San Jose.
[01:45:41] Namaste, baby.
[01:45:42] Love it.
[01:45:44] The originator of it. need to go to Bonnaroo. But I hear Bonnaroo has gone the Coachella way lately, which is why I have not gone. Jazz Fest has been my favorite festival that I've gone to in the ever. Yeah, ever. And original Coachella. Those are my, those are my ones. But Co Theory of a Dead Man, Bad Omen, some 41. It's crazy. There are one, two, three, four, five. But it's not even a specific genre. They're just throwing out everything and seeing what sticks to the wall. Well, it's all rock. It's all rock. It's called Rockville. There are five things.
[01:48:24] Cypress Hill is not rock. We get out. Anything on your end? Anything on my end. I guess not. No, I mean, right now we're like in full swing of everything. I did see, no, I don't really wanna recommend that.
[01:49:41] No, yeah, I got nothing right now.
[01:49:44] I will tell you, this is not really a recommendation,
[01:49:46] but I'll tell you this because Emmy for it makes me angry.
[01:51:00] Brilliantly and well, he is such an intelligent character.
[01:51:06] Oddly, for because of is the best promotion. Yeah, tell your friends that there's this Ted Lasso rewatch podcast and that it's fun because I feel like we've been having a lot of fun with this. We've been staying on track with our timeline.
[01:52:20] So far.
[01:52:21] So far.
[01:52:22] We've had a nice warm-up. at Lasso or any or friends or anything like that. He's like, you got to let me know. I'm like, dude, you know, I've been podcasting on Ted Lasso for like months now. Yeah. He's like, really? He's like, send me the link. So I send him the link and he's going to start listening. Awesome. I love when we still get new listeners. So it's, it's fun. Yeah. So I will, so I will reiterate Kristen's note there.
[01:53:42] Tell your friends about us and go on and give us a review
[01:53:46] online because that really helps us too. Mini Cooper. Oh yes, yes, because there's not a lot of head space. There's not a lot of head space. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And see, I thought maybe it was just going to be about the pub. Oh, yeah. And you know how they pour their beer. Yeah, I mean, they got to leave space for the head in the glass. Right. Exactly.
[01:55:00] The head of the air.
[01:55:01] The professionals here, people.
[01:55:03] We're ridiculous.
[01:55:06] Yeah.
